TITLE: Counter Sales, Warehouse, & Yard Associate

DEPARTMENT: Operations

LOCATION: ALL BRANCHES

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager - Franklin, Greenfield & Leesburg   

FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time


Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities include assisting walk-in customers, maintaining the store appearance, loading, unloading, shipping & receiving of pipe, valves, fittings, geotextiles, geogrids, erosion control, and drainage products. Other primary duties include maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and yard.Essential Functions:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Assist and follow up with customers to sell products, resolve problems, and answer questions.

·       Loading and unloading deliveries.

·       Stock shelves with inventory, pulling and staging orders and loading customer’s vehicles.

·       Maintaining the yard work and assisting in keeping the warehouse clean and organized.

·       Prepare quotes, enter sales orders, invoices, and customer returns.

·       Process payments and deposits

·       Coordinate deliveries with appropriate personnel

·       Assist in inventory counts and controls.

·       Assist in unloading of inbound deliveries.

·       Receive and check in inbound shipments.

·       Stock warehouse shelves.

·       Assist in pulling and staging pick-up and DSI delivery orders.

·       Assist in loading and unloading of customer’s vehicles.

·       Assist in keeping the yard clean and organized.

·       Assist in inventory counts and controls.

·       Maintain store appearance.

o   Sweeping, dusting, and cleaning of store and counter areas.

o   Checking in and stocking all store shelves.

·       Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

      High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

      Ability to operate a forklift.

      Pass pre-employment drug screen.

      General Math Skills.

      Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

      Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

      Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

      Capable of lifting 60 lbs. or more.

      Possess the ability to load and unload deliveries without assistance. 

      Ability to read and interpret documents such as pick sheets.

      The skill and ability to speak effectively with customers, listen to their needs, and help lead them to a solution.

      Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format.

      Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material.

      Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task prioritize and meet deadlines.

      Must be able to multitask with a minimum amount of supervision under occasionally busy conditions.

      Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering data.

      Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
