PVC 3

PVC 3" Utility Backwater Valve (S x S)

  • SKU: SML-3
  • Brand:

  • Product Description:

A Backwater Valve is designed to function as a check valve in a drainage pipe to prevent flowing liquid, such as sewage, from reversing its direction. There are other applications for Backwater Valves, such as multi-level pond balancing for Aquascape applications or for storage tank balancing for industrial and agricultural applications. Backwater Valves should not be confused with Backflow Preventers which are used in potable water supply systems.

Backwater valves are most important if you are on a public sewer system, especially if you are the lowest home on the line where you could have everyone’s sewage above you flow into your home if there is a stoppage in the mainline after your connection. Some jurisdictions require Backwater Valves on new construction.

    • Replaceable internal flapper assembly
    • Extension Kit Adapter components allow easy construction of a valve extension with user supplied pipe cut to desired length
    • Direct Valve Connection to ASTM D 2665 PVC DWV or other IPS size pipe. Spears® IPS DWV x Sewer & Drain Adapter Bushings are available for connection to ASTM D 3034 & ASTM D 2729 Sewer pipe
    • Standard Valve Adapters Pressure Rated to 50 psi (115 feet of head) @ 73°F (23°C) - Optional 100 psi Adapter (232 feet of head) available
    • Conforms to ASME/ANSI A112.14.1 for Backwater Valves
    • Available in Sizes 3", 4" and 6" with Socket Ends

PVC 4" Bull Run Valve

  • SKU: BullRunValve
  • Brand:

  • Product Description:

    DOES NOT INCLUDE KEY

The Bull Run Valve™ splits and alternates flows to drainfields or systems, thereby increasing the useable life of the septic system. Because the user has zero contact with wastewater (due to the valve’s leak-proof and external operating characteristics) the Bull Run Valve™ is the safest alternating device available. The change from one field to another can be accomplished in less than a minute by merely turning the valve - and no digging is required.

The Bull Run Valve™ is available in 4″ sch 40 PVC and is suitable wherever disposal systems are used. It is compatible with all gravity drain field products for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

    DIRECT BURIAL

The valve is designed to be buried directly in the pipe trench and requires no concrete or hold down strap. The valve must be installed with the septic tank effluent line connected to the valve port marked "IN". The valve ports marked "OUT" are connected to each half of the drainfield.

    ADAPTABLE TO VARIOUS PIPES

Each valve port connection is a 4" schedule 40 female slip connection. The riser tube connection is a 4" schedule 40 male slip connection. Use ample PVC, ABS, or multi-purpose glue to form a water-tight joint.

    • Fits PVC Schedule 40 pipe. Use Part# P118-040 to convert to SDR35 pipe
    OPERATING THE VALVE
The direction control handle should be rotated periodically to direct effluent to one or the other of two septic fields. After removing the screw cap at the top of the riser tube, the valve handle can be turned with the Bull Run Valve Key.
